Assistant Head with responsibility for years 4 and 5 and Safeguarding lead.
In 1996 I gained a B. Ed (Hons) and 2006 completed the NCSL middle leaders training. I have twenty years teaching experience across both Key Stages and in four different primary schools. I have been in my current role as Assistant head since September 2014. My management roles have included leading years 1-3 with a whole school responsibility for SEN and my current role is leading years 3 and 4 with a whole school responsibility for Safeguarding. During my career, I have lead many curriculum areas including Literacy and Gifted and Talented. I have also enjoyed training and mentoring trainee teachers and NQTs who all went on to be fully qualified teachers. As unit leader, I am responsible for the standards of teaching and learning and progress of pupils. This role involves conducting formal classroom observations and informal drop ins, learning walks, book and planning scrutiny, monitoring assessments, leading pupil progress meetings, selecting children for interventions and monitoring impact, as well as carrying out performance management interviews with staff. As part of the senior management team I am involved in writing and reviewing the SEF and SDP as well as analyzing data.
